The IHAD began on August 16, 2017, thanks to a matching grant from ISAR to spay/neuter 200 cats from the West Side of Panama City; this is crossing the bridge over the Panama Canal. The need is great and we aimed at 300 sterilizations, unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and it rained the four days. Most of the cats were feral.

On August 17, 2017, three volunteers visit the nearest school to the IHAD spay event location to talk about responsible pet ownership and the importance to spay/neuter.
On August 20, 2017, the team of vets and volunteers mobilized to the community of Parque Lefevre.

Civil Defense, personnel from Banco Nacional and students from the Universidad Interamericana as volunteers
115 cats and 70 dogs were sterilized. Which means that we have prevented hundreds of unwanted litters.
